Westmoreland<\/a>&nbsp;have also joined the band during select live shows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los Angeles artist&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/w\/index.php?title=Norton_Wisdom&amp;action=edit&amp;redlink=1\">Norton Wisdom<\/a>&nbsp;paints on a wet-erase board while the band plays, and the imagery he creates interprets the music much in the same way that lyrics might.<sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Banyan_(band)#cite_note-watt-3\">[3]<\/a><\/sup>&nbsp;To see the band in more than one performance, you will see some images that recur and some that are new, since the songs are compositions whose structure remains the same while there is also a large amount of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Improvisation\">improvisation<\/a>, in the jazz tradition.<sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Banyan_(band)#cite_note-watt-3\">[3]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first EP featured&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Money_Mark\">Money Mark<\/a>&nbsp;as keyboardist labeled as the&nbsp;<em>Freeway Keyboardist<\/em>. The first album was engineered by the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Dust_Brothers\">Dust Brothers<\/a>&nbsp;at their studio and produced by Turin and Perkins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Notable guest appearances on the second album&nbsp;<em>Anytime at All<\/em>&nbsp;include&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Michael_Balzary\">Flea<\/a>,<sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Banyan_(band)#cite_note-glide-4\">[4]<\/a><\/sup>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/John_Frusciante\">John Frusciante<\/a><sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Banyan_(band)#cite_note-glide-4\">[4]<\/a><\/sup>&nbsp;(both from the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Red_Hot_Chili_Peppers\">Red Hot Chili Peppers<\/a>),&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Martyn_LeNoble\">Martyn LeNoble<\/a>&nbsp;(Perkins&#8217; former bandmate from&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Porno_for_Pyros\">Porno for Pyros<\/a>),&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Rob_Wasserman\">Rob Wasserman<\/a><sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Banyan_(band)#cite_note-glide-4\">[4]<\/a><\/sup>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Buckethead\">Buckethead<\/a>.
